WHEN DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN RACING, AND WHAT TRIGGER THIS INTEREST? I grew up around the NHRA events,Riverside Raceway(gone) Long Beach Grand Prix, local karting spots and Pro RC cars, I thought with what I learned if I applied it to a real car, I may be able to be successful. Also my love and knowledge about Honda cars and engines could not be put to waste.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FUNNY STORIES OR ANECDOTES ABOUT YOUR RACING EXPERIENCES? I have one tip for someone going to the circuit- Learn about the Red Mist and don’t let it happen to you. I had an off in my street car at an open track event, and sent my self sliding into the tire barrier smashing my car up. I was over driving my car thinking I was Mario Andretti following a faster car , thinking I could keep pace…. Bottom line. Know what your car and your own limits are.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR RACING CAREER? Meeting great people and having fun at the track

WHAT OTHER HOBBIES OR RACING ARE YOU INVOLVED IN? As mentioned before. Pro 1/10th Nitro sedan racer but retired

WHAT IS YOUR DAY JOB LIKE? I run a family owned custom car grille manufacturing business. Not a millionare , but I am happy.

WHICH CM APPLICATION DO YOU USE IN YOUR CAR?I am using the CM stage 4 clutch for my K20. It has a very smooth engagement for my road racing needs, and has the holding power for the harsh driving it goes through. I am confident I do not have to worry about my clutch or replacing it constantly. Anything that handles what I dish out on the track is surely worth every penny.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE NEXT SEASON? ANY BIG CHANGES OR PLANS? Short term goals are to compete in the So Cal Honda Challenge H1 class and get Rookie of the Year, also run the local Time Attack events which have a bit more Media exposure, to promote myself and sponsors.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US? Just thank you very much and I am Humbled and Blessed to have that “something” it takes to have great sponsors and products on my car. This is the Ultimate foundation for success in any autosport and now its in my hands to make it work on the track ! Last, Keep chasing your dreams because you have the capabilities to do what ever you wish to accomplish.

Thanks Clutchmasters for your support and I look forward to a long partnership

-Justin Wesseling

Felix Medina drew some attention last year with his stellar 60-foot times. Clutch Masters is proud to highlight Medina as its first featured racer.
Medina was born in the Dominican Republic, raised in New York City and now resides in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. He got his nickname “Gato” (meaning cat in Spanish) from friends in junior high because of his green eyes. And just like a cat, Medina has an extreme curiosity, especially when it comes to fast cars.
“Ever since I can remember I have always had a love for racing,” Medina said. “But what triggers the interest is what makes (cars) tick, and how to make them go faster.”
Fortunately, Medina’s day job at Classic Coach allows him ample time to tinker with some of the world’s fastest cars, and find ways to make them faster.
“It’s actually very good most times,” said Medina, “I get to play with really nice cars. I do a lot of research and development, mostly Ferrari’s.”
When Medina is not busy fiddling with Ferrari’s or winning Wallys, he spends time with his wife Irbania and son Daniel who are Medina’s number one supporters (aside from Clutch Masters of course!)
When asked what his goals are for next season, Medina responded like a true racer:
“My goals are to win as many races as I can, and to go faster than I ever have.”
Clutch Masters would like to wish Felix luck in the upcoming season and thank all its sponsored racers for their hard work!
